January 22 readings

Hey everyone!

I've got a BUSY (like "bang my head on the wall, I'm not sure if I can get it all done" sort of busy) day, so I will apologize right now for only providing the links to the readings for you today.

Enjoy...

Genesis 44:1-45:28
Matthew 14:13-36
Psalm 18:37-50
Proverbs 4:11-13

Hope you all have a great day!

(And don't forget to say a prayer for Matt as he heads off for his Emmaus Walk this weekend.)

  1. Note in Matthew that Jesus went up on the mountain to pray. He was by Himself. There was no one to teach about praying. Even Jesus, the Son of God, had to pray every now & then. If He needed to, then surely we need to.

Jesus walked on water! And not just Jesus, but Peter too! How did Peter initiate it? He asked Jesus to command him to walk on the water to Jesus. In Peter's eyes, Jesus' commands trump even physical laws.

Oh, if we had the same respect for Jesus' commands today! What could the billions of Christians do? What could our little church do?
